O meu lindo terreno... /My beautiful Land

O meu lindo terreno (e casa)... que agora vendo a quem o souber apreciar

My beautiful land (and house)... which I now sell to whomever really appreciates it :)

When I stroll through the land of the house I now have for sale, I inevitably fall in love with is permanent abundance each and every time. The diversity of plants and wild flowers, of native trees and water, the ample space, the purity of the air and the silence... ahhh the silence of this place.

The stream that lies down the hill, the large pond that fills in winter and which I have dreamt of transforming into an organic pool, the small pine, oak and cork tree wood where I have imagined a few wooden benches and tables to sit and enjoy, the willows, particularly the large one near the pond where I have sat so often reading a book or simply reveling in the warm spring afternoons, where so many picnics and ball games have been played, where I have serenely meditated, enveloped in the fresh purity of it all...

I imagined a path that would go right round the 2 hectares of land, where one could go on a meditative journey or even ride a bike.

The two wells, both with spring water, free from lime and the land void of chemicals for over 20 years are sure treasures to add to the advantages of this land, ideal for a country wood and some permaculture vegetable gardening. The perfect space to create sheep, goats and horses and who knows even other domestic animals.

And the house, that now needs some care and nurturing, this house has been indeed very special in all of the moments it has been part of my life. It has witnessed many personal transformation processes, either in groups or individually, and it has been a berth of celebration and joy. So much growing up, education, love and change has gone by these walls... This house is so unique that its potentials are infinite, from a simples living space with much room and light, to the most diverse possibilities of business or group ventures. Just a few examples here: gym or holistic space, SPA, Bed and Breakfast, Hostel, restaurant, book shop with library and tea house, therapy centre, retreat centre, pedagogical farm, alternative home schooling premises, association of cooperative headquarters, communitary sustainable project... and so much more.

And all of this just 7 kilometres away from the beautiful town of Tomar and the same seven kilometres the opposite way, to Castelo de Bode dam.

Aqui ficam algumas fotos...

Team Painting

Sharing the Painting Workshop we had yesterday at Linda's School, with our CAE Starter students. Thank you :)

“Painting is letting your emotions flow into colours and shapes”

When one looks at a street in Tomar, each person has their own image of it. Whatever is in each mind depends entirely on one’s individual perspective. In other words, when one observes reality the deatils that spring forth differ from individual to individual. This is due to the difference in moral values, attractiveness and emotional memories each one has. Thus, it becomes possible to transfer this same particular appraisal of reality onto a canvas, through the art of painting.
The interesting thing is when one is questioning one’s appraisal of reality it changes each moment, which leads to a creative process in each brush stroke – unique to the moment of its conception. Painting is communicating with oneself – there is a difference between what one conceives in one’s mind and what then appears on the canvas. Then again, what the viewer will appraise when the painting is finished, can be a totally different thing than what the painter had in mind.

Team painting

Each person has their own conceptual background. When belonging to a group, after a while, a new particular background is created which belongs to the group itself. This creates a new breeding ground for joint ideas and concepts.
Drawing on people’s emotions is a fantastic way to lead them to learn, for when one feels one expands. The passion behind any kind of learning or any other creative endeavour is what leads to success – be it whatever the reader may deem it to be.
The aim of this activity is for the group to feel that we belong to it and are somehow related in the way we are growing and expanding as individuals and, of course, as a group. This makes creation much richer than any individual could achieve alone.
I would like to ask you to take a few moments and recall the moments that have stayed with you since the beginning of this school year. What touched you? What stayed in your emotional memory? How do you feel now about belonging to this group? What particular emotions come up?
Do not discard any image as irrelevant. What crazy things are going through your mind now? This is how the artist starts conception of a masterpiece J
Feel free to create. It is much like creating word webs to brainstorm ideas, but now you are revolutionising your feelings – diving into them and making sense of that.
Now draw... and then connect your craziness to everyone else’s so that the painting whole, not a sum of parts – you need to feel into each other’s craziness too! “The whole is much more than the sum of its parts”.
Join the dots and enjoy!

Humildemente Entregue...

Sim. Com gratidão transbordo, enamorada de existir

E contigo expandir, descobrir e partilhar, aprender e crescer. Ser Amor... Amar.

Separate Togetherness

Working with teenagers is a very real way of getting an early peek into what the world will shortly look like in terms of social interaction. Inevitably, the teenagers of today will grow up into the adults of tomorrow and whereas some of their addictions will sooner or later tend to fade away, others will get stronger, changing the way people relate altogether.

On top of working with teenagers, having a teenager daughter gives me an extra view of how kids nowadays relate… but then again they were born and bred in a world of separate togetherness so it should come as no surprise that they simply enhance this trend that has been evolving for the last 20 to 30 years, and more so even, in the last 10 years.

Technology is here to stay. There is no doubt about that and about its obvious benefits to human development. The thing is it has as much of a strong all-round positive effect as it has a negative one. It could be said that it is balanced for being so strong both ways. What we don’t know yet is whether the negative will eventually surpass the positive or vice versa, or, maybe stay balanced in its extremes.

One way or another, what I have come to notice more and more is that this issue of separate togetherness is more and more the order of the day. People are together without being so. The sense of sharing, of co-responsibility, of cohesion, of wholeheartedly being with others when accompanied and being alone when not accompanied… all of this is fading and creating a confused daze of insensitivity as well as unprecedented selfishness.

This generation of kids whose parents spoil them with excessive material compensation for their lack of presence in their lives, where kids are many times not educated for lack of time to be an educator, where kids do not know what a “no” means and where they are the centre of attention not only as extensions of their parents' unfulfilled dreams, but also as examples of competitive skill and achievement at all costs… this generation is becoming emotionally mute, just like their parents before them. Technologies are serving the purpose of a maid or caretaker, also functioning as pleasure fulfillers and constant entertainers, drawing youngsters’ attention further and further from their here and now, into virtual worlds of insensitive imagery where violence has become completely normal and killing is just a game.

People sit next to each other but hardly ever with each other, they interact but hardly ever offer their full attention, they look but hardly ever see and this seems to me more and more like a new generation of robots rather than humans.

I wonder whether the robots’ minds or the human hearts will prevail, in the long run…

Fortunately I know nothing really matters in the world of matter, though it might be of extreme importance to each one’s conscious evolution beyond matter. So I simply observe, feel, sometimes it saddens me, but mostly I know all is well in each one’s creation, whatever it may lead to.

What really matters is who I choose to be in the midst of all of this separate togetherness and I sure enough choose to be whole in my togetherness both inside and out, knowing that though it serves all in many invisible and visible ways, mostly it serves my reality and my choice of seeing and being beyond the limitations of a world built on illusion.
